I began my career as a Fulbright Scholar, conducting research on traditional medicine in Sochi, Russia. I presented my work at the United States Embassy in Moscow, highlighting cross-cultural perspectives in healthcare and integrative practice.
After completing my grant, I attended New York University (NYU). I then completed a residency at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. I went on to earn my doctorate from the University of San Diego, California, where I focused on digital telehealth treatment for psychiatric care.
I am passionate about working with Veterans and individuals experiencing Depression, Anxiety, and Mood Disorders. In 2023, I completed CIIS training in psychedelic-assisted therapy. In 2025, I was among the first providers in Colorado and in the country to become licensed as a psilocybin facilitator.
My name is Janet O’Hare. In my psychotherapy practice, I work with people of all ages and many backgrounds, with all kinds of goals and concerns. These often include:
· Addressing worries and stresses
· Navigating knotty problems in life
· Working on relationships
· Welcoming a new child into the family
· Dealing with a serious illness
· Handling a major career challenge
· Managing trauma-related issues
I am especially interested in the zone where the waves of the soul crash on the rocks of the body. I have a great deal of experience with trauma of many types, in many degrees of severity. I have also worked extensively with, and have a special love for, new families, mothers and childbearing. I am honored to be present at the end of life. I am a psychodynamic feminist and am deeply interested in history and in political and moral movements.
Whether you are feeling down, depleted, or in pain; if you’re wondering whether you are good enough, or having difficulties finding the motivation to start your day, psychotherapy is an effective way of rediscovering yourself. It allows you to get to the root of your symptoms and find the answers you are looking for in order to create a more fulfilling sense of self. As individuals, we all experience depression, anxiety, trauma in our lives, often more than once. You do not have to go through these issues alone.
Whether you are experiencing difficulties as an individual, with friends, family members, or your partner, Cecilia Bichara, LCSW uses a combination of psychodynamic practices that are individually tailored to meet your needs. She provides individual, couple, and family therapy in a safe nonjudgmental space and can help you in this very personal journey.
Whether we are searching for complete happiness; trying to find our life’s purpose or just trying to gather the strength to make it through one more day, we all want to live our most fulfilling lives with less doubt and worry and more love and happiness...and fun! I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive space for us to explore, understand, and reconcile any disturbances within you.
With the use of therapy or medication I can treat you or your child so that impairments can be identified and the ability to function more easily is achieved.
My training allows me to diagnose and give treatment recommendations based on my assessment which consists of an evaluation gathering personal history, psychosocial and environmental stressors, and symptom review. I can help you understand the diagnosis and determine the cause of the difficulty with the use of medication or psychotherapy.
I am a double Board Certified Psychiatrist with Specialty Fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I completed my Adult Residency Training and Child and Adolescent Fellowship training at North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2009 and 2011 respectively.
