I have had extensive experience with trauma in individuals from adolescence to late adulthood. I believe that trauma looks and feels different to every person. Two people experiencing the same event will have different outlooks and understandings of it. A traumatic event can take many forms. I want to help you pick up on where your thoughts, feelings and behaviors come from, even if you have never experienced “trauma".
In my practice I believe in integration of mind and body to provide the healing strategies to overcome depression, anxiety, trauma, mood lability, addiction, relationship with food and difficult life transitions. Sometimes people feel stuck in old patterns of behavior and weighed down by previous negative experiences. I focus on providing clinical support to clients who would like to achieve higher potential in their life, career, sports and overall life balance and well being.
I am able to provide psychological evaluations for bariatric surgeries and clinical support through the process of weight loss, changes in life style and relationship with food. I understand that every person is unique in their needs. I tailor my approach to each individual needs and focus on mind and body connection as well relationship with food and its effect on mood and energy.
As a former competitive athlete, I also assist athletes with providing them with mental tools to perform at their highest level or coming back from their sport-related injuries.
I’m a board certified psychiatrist who places a high value on both psychotherapy and evidence-based medication management. I am dedicated to providing compassionate care for individuals experiencing anxiety and mood disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, trauma and PTSD, and ADHD.
I work with adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or not quite like themselves. Many of my patients come in with anxiety, depression, mood changes, sleep problems, or difficulty functioning the way they want to in daily life.
My approach is clear, structured, and collaborative. I do more than prescribe medication. I help you understand what may be contributing to your symptoms, what your options are, and what a realistic plan looks like moving forward.
If you’ve ever left an appointment feeling rushed or unsure about what to do next, my goal is to make sure that doesn’t happen here.
Starting in therapy creates space to voice your thoughts while receiving support, validation and other perspectives to explore. When struggling with self-doubt, critical self talk, and the weight of societal expectations around identity, relationships or image a place to talk it through is crucial. These thought patterns can become barriers to effective communication, self care and greatly affect our mental health. We all deserve a space to be heard and process these experiences. A part of the therapy process is bringing awareness to how these internal narratives and external experiences influence anxiety, depression, mood and self-esteem.
