As a marriage & family therapist, I am experienced in guiding individuals, couples and families as they work through traumatic and complex situations.
I am here to join with you in your journey toward overcoming depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, perinatal distress, postpartum depression or other challenges you may be facing.
Upon request, I also provide Christian counseling to help individuals and families meet both their emotional and spiritual needs.
I am a retired Army Nurse Corps Veteran and a Doctorate-prepared Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, with over 20 years of nursing experience, with the past 5 years as a practitioner. I've treated clients both in the inpatient and outpatient setting diagnosed with depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders.
Many high-achieving adults silently struggle with alcohol or substance use while continuing to excel professionally, care for others, and maintain demanding lives. On the outside, they appear successful. Internally, they may feel exhausted, disconnected, overwhelmed, or increasingly dependent on substances to cope, perform, relax, or escape.
I specialize in helping professionals, executives, healthcare workers, entrepreneurs, attorneys, and other high-functioning adults regain control over substance use in a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and practical way.
My approach is designed for individuals who may not identify with traditional addiction treatment models but recognize that their relationship with substances is affecting their quality of life, emotional wellbeing, relationships, confidence, or sense of fulfillment.
In addition to my professional background, I bring personal insight into the realities of substance use, recovery, and harm reduction. I understand firsthand that change is deeply personal and rarely follows a linear path. This perspective allows me to approach clients with compassion, authenticity, and respect for each person's unique process and goals.
I have plenty of life experience dealing with most issues and over 30 years of experience in pastoral and faith based counseling. I am a state licensed therapist with a doctorate in clinical psychology. I have been happily married for 35 years, I have raised 4 children, and I’ve owned various small businesses.
I am passionate about creating a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients. I am committed to helping my clients identify and navigate their feelings, learn healthier coping skills, and ultimately find hope and heal. I have worked with adults and adolescence with eating disorders, substance and behavioral addictions, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, co-dependency, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
