I like to think of myself as the metropolitan psychologist with a southern flair! I've developed a style of working with people that is a beautiful marriage of my extensive training, dynamic personality, and passion for helping folx actualize their best selves. I am a clinical psychologist by training and a Pennsylvania-certified school psychologist. With a specialized interest and training in human sexuality, I am also an AASECT-certified sex therapist, or clinical sexologist.
Welcome to Thurber Counseling! My name is Liz and I have a background in mental health and school counseling.
It’s exhausting to live a life that feels more like a performance than an experience. You may feel heavy with the weight of "doing"—meeting expectations while losing the quiet essence of "being." Whether navigating the hollow ache of loss, the fog of depression, or the echoes of trauma, I know how it feels to be a stranger to yourself. Therapy begins when you decide you can no longer just "push through." We move forward by creating space for your pain to be heard. It's a journey of reclamation: stripping away the noise to rediscover the resilient, authentic soul that has been waiting for you all along.
Hi there! My name is Alyssa Pratt, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) located in Carlisle, PA. I studied at Messiah University and earned a master's degree in Couple, Marriage & Family Therapy. I work primarily with children, youth, young adults, & families, and I specialize in trauma. It is an honor to help clients process the past in order to find healing for the future.
I take a holistic perspective with my clients to address the health of body, mind, and spirit. I believe that a solid therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is a crucial part of the healing process, and that techniques and therapy approaches must “fit” the client in order to be effective—there is no “one size fits all” therapy.
I am client-centered and tailor my work to each individual’s needs, drawing from cognitive-behavioral strategies, solution-focused techniques, and strengths-based practices. I am attuned to how emotional manipulation and self-doubt take root after toxic relationships, and I work closely with clients to rebuild self-esteem and improve boundaries.
I have 15+ years in the psychiatric-mental health field. I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and have an additional certification in treating clients with addiction (CARN-AP).
Before I begin with my introduction, I want to share that I am grateful to be given the opportunity to walk with you on your journey, and whatever that may entail. My goal is to help you explore, gain insight, and bring peace and clarity to whatever situation brings you here.
As a Registered – Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) with the National Art Therapy Credentials Board, I adhere to their registration requirements and maintain the Art Therapy Credentials Board Code of Ethics. These ethical matters include confidentiality, informed consent, responsibility to the client and to the profession, and professional competence and integrity. If you have any question regarding the code of ethics, please do not hesitate to ask. In addition, I possess UpToDate PA Licensure (LPC).
Please never hesitate to ask about my background, skills, or my role as a therapist
Welcome to my practice! My name is Nichola Lydon, and I’m excited to work with you. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Montclair State University.
With over six years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals facing a wide range of challenges—including substance use disorders, perinatal mood disorders, and the overwhelming stressors of daily life. Whether you’re struggling with substance use dependency, navigating a difficult transition, or feeling stuck, I’m here to help.
My approach is honest, direct, and always rooted in compassion. I believe in having the tough conversations without judgment—because healing starts with truth, not sugarcoating. My practice is a safe, stigma-free space, where you can feel supported, heard, and empowered to create meaningful change.
If you're ready to do the work, face challenges head-on, and build a more resilient life, I’m ready to walk alongside you every step of the way.
Let’s begin your journey toward healing and growth—together.
I believe that humans should ideally be unfolding and growing throughout their lifetime. This means embracing change, especially when life gets difficult and we feel stuck, dissatisfied, or overwhelmed. Change is a journey with ups and downs. Personally, I believe we all struggle with challenges at different times in our life and it's the courageous who seek help.
One of my greatest assets is, I Recognize Un-Nurtured Pain. I have 17 years of experience as a clinical counselor. I deem myself an energetic, empathetic, resourceful, and compassionate counseling professional with proven ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I fully grasp the emotional and residual effects of how unresolved childhood issues, chemical substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, and PTSD impact one’s daily life. Moreover, the low self-esteem, decreased self-worth, powerlessness, and hopelessness those issues incite.
Everyone has a unique story and deserves an individualized approach to care. Once we decide to work together, we’ll act as partners in your therapeutic journey. It’s important to me that we communicate openly and you feel respected in our relationship. I’ll be there to listen to you, challenge you, and support you along the way.
