Most of us aren't born knowing how to navigate relationships, understand our emotions, or process trauma. Many things influence how we react and behave, but that doesn't mean we can't grow. My goal is to help you build confidence through discovering your self-worth and practicing self-compassion. My priority is creating a safe, judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable. I show up as my authentic self to build trust with you. I'm an empathetic listener and communicate in a calm, gentle, respectful way. My job isn't to tell you what to do, but to help you process and explore topics to build self-awareness and confidence.
I’m currently accepting new clients! I’ve been serving couples and individuals as a marriage and family therapist for over 25 years. My primary focus is helping adults navigate complex relationships, both with others and with themselves. I specialize in women's issues, family dynamics, depression, and supporting those going through end-of-life transitions.
I believe you are naturally resourceful and entirely capable of growth. Life can get heavy, but our work together is designed to help you unburden your heart, find fresh meaning, and recapture your true desires. I’m here to respectfully meet you exactly where you are, offering a warm space to heal.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience supporting adults, teens, and families in medical, community mental health, and addiction treatment settings. I’ve worked with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use. I bring a calm, supportive, and down‐to‐earth style to therapy so clients feel safe and understood. I also teach social work and sociology at the university level, which keeps me grounded in current research and best practices. Most importantly, I care about meeting you where you are and helping you move toward meaningful change.
My name is Jessica Barton-Grimley and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy in the state of California. I began working in the field of social work, specifically in homeless services, in 2014, earned a Master of Social Worker degree in 2018, and transitioned to overseeing a clinical team in 2021.
I have experience working with adults between the ages of 18 and 86 living with hoarding disorder, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, low self-esteem, and interpersonal challenges. Additionally, I have experience working with formerly unhoused individuals, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, veterans, and individuals with unique abilities.
I was drawn to a career in therapy to support individuals in coping with the emotional toll of societal expectations, norms, values, and stressors of everyday life. My goal as a therapist is to provide a space to explore the distress you experience, deepen your self-awareness and self-compassion to lead a life that is meaningful to you.
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist who works with people seeking a deeper, more meaningful relationship with themselves and with life. Many of the clients I support come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Others are navigating major transitions, wrestling with identity questions, or carrying stress from demanding work and high-pressure expectations. Wherever you are, therapy with me is a place to slow down, pay attention, and rediscover the parts of you that want space, clarity, and care.
My approach is relational, somatic, and depth-oriented. I integrate ideas from relational depth psychology, somatic psychology, yoga, and non-dual contemplative traditions. At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens through presence—listening to the body, the unconscious, and the subtle threads of meaning that shape our inner lives.
I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), a program known for integrating Western psychological science with Eastern contemplative practices and ancient earth-based wisdom. My clinical experience spans hospital-based care, community mental health, school settings, and private practice. These environments have allowed me to work with people across different ages, identities, and life situations.
I’ve also completed extensive post-graduate training in the Hakomi Method, a somatic, mindfulness-based therapeutic approach that helps uncover and transform the core patterns at the center of our lives.
If you’re looking for a therapist who brings warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for your inner world, I would be honored to support you.
