Janet “Jan” Yager is a board certified nurse practitioner with over 20 years of nursing experience in psychiatric, adult, and family health. With a desire to provide a bridge between these aspects of care,
I am a board-certified, Harvard-trained psychiatrist providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management and therapy to children, adolescents and adults. I treat a wide variety of mental illness, and I specialize in helping individuals with ADHD, depression, anxiety, autism and those who are gender-diverse or other LGBTQ+ individuals.
I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner who provides patient-centered care focused on helping you feel more stable and in control of your mental health. I work with individuals experiencing a range of emotional and mental health challenges. I take time to understand your unique situation and create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel supported.
Able to see patients in FL, NY, and MD, both in-person and telehealth. We offer psychiatry, psychotherapy, and TMS treatments in the Palm Harbor, FL location only. Our goal is to help patients feel comfortable and work through the challenges they may face, as a team. I received my training at Columbia University's renowned School of Nursing and graduated with a doctorate as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I have specialized training in understanding trauma based disorders, mood disorders, and a particular interest in the intersection between mental and physical health.
I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, stress, and burnout. A lot of the people I work with are high functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, or stuck in cycles of worry and overthinking. You can expect me to be calm, warm, and steady. I’m not going to rush you or pressure you to “perform” being okay. I’m interested in how your life actually works day to day: your responsibilities, culture, family roles, and the ways you’ve been coping, not just a checklist of symptoms. Many of the people I see are used to taking care of everyone else; in our work, it’s allowed to be your turn to be the one who gets supported.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
